2. Air pressure and quality

Ensure that your compressor, couplings and hose diameters are able to operate at the required minimum pressure and airflow through the nozzle.
Optimal pressure, combined with maximum air flow in harmony with the nozzle diameter, will help you to achieve high productivity and performance. Especially on thick paint, and heavily rusted areas. The air must be dry and free of oil, and we strongly recommend pressure not to be dropped below 100 pi.

3. Nozzles

We recommend the use of Venture Nozzles, since they improve Garnet Elite's grain velocity, and thus increase the impact effect on the steel surface. To avoid reduction of air pressure and waste of Garnet ELITE, make sure to check nozzles frequently for wear and tear, and replace when necessary.

4. Control of flowrate

The consumption of Garnet ELITE is approximately 1/3, or less than half, of usual standard abrasives, depending on the surface profile, materials and conditions. Garnet ELITE is in addition hard/dense with free flow. For this reason the normal flow and needle valve setting must be reduced to a minimum. This is best achieved through the use of a good quality valve and preferably a needle valve.

5. Grain size control

Garnet ELITE offers a wide range of sizes, depending on the surface profile needed. However, please observe that fine grains accelerate much faster and imparting a higher impact energy to the surface. This again, resulting in an exceptionally clean surface, due to the fact, that smaller and sharp grains, cleans deep into pitted areas, removing soluble salts, rust and other contaminations.
Therefore, depending on the required surface profile, always use the right grade for the best results and efficiency.

6. Recycling

Garnet ELITE is suitable for multiple usage, and have the possibility to be recycled up to 4 to 5 times without losing its superior cleaning and cutting ability.
Efficiency is dependant upon plant chosen, required grain profile for next application, and the addition of virgin Garnet ELITE in a sensible proportion.
Work is in progress in certain regions to arrange re-cycling in a central plant, so that you may re-deliver used Garnet ELITE, and at the same time receive new supplies.
